Business Development Manager

The Job- Primary responsibilities:

  • Number one priority is to understand our brand, our people, our partners, our fans, our customers, and our voice
  • Help us create, manage, and execute a business development strategy
  • Actively manage relationships with current national and international accounts with the mindset to grow our business.
  • Identify, attract and pursue new accounts
  • Negotiate and close growth opportunities and sales contracts
  • Be a GSD person - we are a small team and may need you to be flexible with our ever changing needs
  • Spot the trends. Communicate them to the team and leverage them to develop business
  • Provide intel on competition and thoughts on how to make sure consumers and accounts understand why we’re different/better
  • Lead sales forecasting
  • Listen to current accounts, understand what they need, help them to see why they need more of what they have and more of what’s new and to come
  • Set targets with the C-Team and beat them (not the team- the targets)

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Hunger to meet amazing people and sell them the best makeup on the planet
  • Willing to put yourself out there, to laugh at yourself, to find out what people want and to give it to them
  • 3+ years of experience working in sales, preferably in the film, fashion, beauty, or art industries
  • Effective interpersonal skills; must be able to establish and maintain relationships by reading people and situations and adapting communication accordingly
  • Must be a digital native and à quick study in all things team and sales tech
  • Must LOVE makeup, because it’s what we do
  • Solid market understanding of Cosmetics market
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated bizdev success (please provide à reference)
  • Willingness to travel a minimum of 50%
  • Be located in the greater Bay Area
